আমাজন ও ভারতের গল্প

যেমন করে গর্ত থেকে পিঁপড়ে বেরোয় বা মৌচাকে ঢিল পড়লে মৌমাছি, সেরকমই জঙ্গল থেকে পিল পিল করে লোক বেরোচ্ছে। আধা উলঙ্গ জংলি। ছেলে কোলে নিয়ে মায়েরা উর্ধশ্বাসে দৌড়োচ্ছে বড় রাস্তার দিকে। হাঁফিয়ে পড়ার জো নেই। পিছনে ফেলে এসেছে আদিম বাড়িঘর-পাথরের পাত্র-আঁশ ছাড়ানোর ঝিনুক।

হারু মিস্ত্রি। শুধু নামে নয়। পেশাতেও। ঘর ছাওয়ার কাজ করে সে।
দাদু খুব নাম-ডাকওয়ালা ছিল। বসন্ত-গ্রীষ্মে তিনমাস ঘরে ফেরার সময় পেতনা। কাছাকাছি কোথাও হলে হারুকে সঙ্গে করে নিয়ে যেত।

বাবার সাথে হারু রোজই কাজে যেত। বাবা দশ কী কুড়ি ফুট উপরে উঠে কাজ করত। উঠোনে আঁটি বাধতে বাঁধতে হারু বই পড়ত। সামনে তখন মাধ্যমিক। হারুর পছন্দের বিষয় আবার ভুগোল। বাবা ওপর থেকে প্রায়ই চ্যাঁচাত, ‘দ্যাখত হারু, আড়ির কাঠটা সোজা হয়েছে কিনা’। বাবা বলার সাথে সাথে হারুকে ঘরের মাঝখানে গিয়ে দাঁড়াতে হত। ওপরের দিকে তাকিয়ে বলত, ‘ঠিক আছে’। ওদিকে উঠোনে ফেলে আসা বইয়ের পাতাগুলি হাওয়ায় উড়তে উড়তে একটা ওল্টানো ‘ব’ এর মানচিত্রে আটকে যেত। দক্ষিন আমেরিকা। বিপিন স্যার একদিন একটা ঢাউস রঙ্গীন বই দেখিয়েছে, ‘ব’ এর পেটটা পুরো সবুজ।

ওপর থেকে বাবা মাঝে মাঝেই ঝাঁঝিয়ে উঠত, ‘এগুলো খড় না বাল। চাষ করছে সব। ইংরিজিতে ধানের নাম। বলি, শুধু ভাত খেলেই হবে? গরুকে খেতে দিতি হবে না। ঘর ছাইতি হবে না? খড় কই, খড়? ভালো করে পড় বাপ। এ কাজে আর জুত নাই। সব শেষ। তোকে কেন জন্ম দিতে গেলাম। সন্তান আনা পাপ। আর কত কী দেখতি হবে কে জানে’। দূর দিগন্তের দিকে তাকিয়ে বাবা কথাগুলো বলত। কে জানে, উঁচুতে উঠে থাকত বলে বাবা হয়ত আরও বেশি কিছু দেখতে পেত।

জঙ্গলের মধ্যেও ছোট ছোট দেশ থাকে। নদী দিয়ে ঘেরা থাকে সেসব দেশের সীমানা। পুরুস, রিও-পৌনি, কুরুদরি- এসব নদীর নাম। নদীর মন মর্জিতে সীমানা পালটে যায় বারে বারে। সব সীমানা পেরিয়ে সব দেশগুলো এখন অন্য এক পৃথিবীর রাজপথে দৌড়ে যাচ্ছে। দেশে পড়ে আছে অসংখ্য ম্যাকাউ, টুকান, ক্যাপিবারা, জাগুয়ার।

দিগন্ত দেখতে দেখতে একদিন বাবা ওপর থেকে ধপ করে পড়ে গেল। নিচে আলগোছে পড়ে থাকা ভাঙ্গা জোয়ালের একটা অংশ ভস করে গেঁথে গেল পেটে। বাবার আধমরা শরীরটা আর নাড়িভুঁড়ি নিয়ে হারু রিকশাভ্যানে করে গিয়েছিল হাসপাতালে। জীবনের দীর্ঘতম যাত্রা।

বহুবার, বহুবার আগুন নিভিয়েছে সে। গ্রামে কারোর বাড়িতে আগুন লাগলে হারু ছুটে যায়, চালায় ওঠে, ভেঙ্গে দেয় খড়ের ছাদ। দাউ দাউ আগুনের মধ্যে বাড়ির নাড়িভুঁড়ি বের করতে করতে বারবার বাবার কথা মনে পড়ে।

এখন আর ঘর ছাওয়ার কাজ সেরকম আসেনা। রাজমিস্ত্রির সাথে মশলা বইতে মন চায় না। কোনো কোনো দিন চাল মিলে বস্তা বওয়ার কাজ করে। দুটো বাচ্চা, একটা বউ।

বেরোনোর পর এক এক করে গুনলে দেখা যেত প্রায় দশ লক্ষ লোক জঙ্গল থেকে বেরিয়ে এসেছে। পিছনে দাউ দাউ করে জ্বলছে একটা সবুজ রঙ। আমাজন।

হারু চালমিলের টিভিতে বসে বসে কদিন ধরেই আগুন দেখছে, দেখছে বিপিন স্যারের বইতে আগুন লেগেছে। রঙ্গীন মোটা মোটা পাতাগুলি গলে গলে পড়ে যাচ্ছে। বাবা কি ওপরে বসে বসে এসবই দেখতে পেত?

আজ ভোরে হারু বেরিয়েছে। আকাশের তারা দেখে দেখে পশ্চিম বরাবর হাঁটছে। বউটাকে বিছানায় চিরতরে শুইয়ে দিয়ে এসেছে। ঘুমন্ত বাচ্চাদুটো বাড়ির পিছনের ডোবার পাড়ে ঘাসের তিন হাত নিচে আরামে ঘুমোচ্ছে। আরও আরও অনেকটা যেতে হবে তাকে। কয়েক হাজার মাইল। যত পশ্চিমে যায়, পোড়া পোড়া গন্ধ নাকে ঘনীভূত হয়।

its our regular antisuperstition school programme. this time we are in CHHATNA GIRLS HOGH SCHOOL of BANKURA DISTRICT in INDIA. we are disclosing the miracle behind FIRE WALKING.

in india , many godmen walk on fire and they said it is miracle. So, in our anti superstition programme we disclose this miracle by walking. At first we disclose the science behind it and walk on fire, then we invites the villagers. they walk with us and this process they know that nothing is miracle in case of fire walking. But in school premises sometimes it is impossible to arrange the space of fire walking. So we depends up on this stick. We are describing the fact and demo is a fired stick. IF THE FIRE TOUCHED OUR SKIN FOR A SMALL MOMENT ( LESS THEN 1/3 SECOND) THEN OUR SKIN NEVER BURNED......

A 9 year old girl was mentally tortured after being accused as witch by the villagers in WestBengal.

Borogora village in District Purulia of West Bengal. Last week, a 9 year old girl Sumitra Hansda was mentally tortured after being accused as witch by the villagers. Sabujmoni, mother of Sumitra left the village and took a safe shelter. She told us villagers are demanding 1 lakh rupee as a fine. She also told us, villagers threatened her if she does not pay, she will de-head. A few months ago, Sabujmoni’s mother in law Tusumoni was also tortured by the villagers as a witch and the family was fined Rupees 50000. The poverty stricken family was forced to pay the money by selling the domestic cattle like buffalos, goats. Now, sabujmoni have decided not to pay the money demanded by the villagers again. They have decided to fight against the judgment of villagers.
The members of our organisation "Science and Rationalists Association of India" tried to convince the villagers. We  met local poice station create the pressure on administration to take a strong action. We also spread our helping hand to Sabujmoni, if she agree to a legal fight.

 

PROTEST AGAINST A SCHOOL COMMITEE DECISION

Suman Patra is a student of class seven in Panchal Uchcha Madhyamic (Higher Secondary) School. This school is situated in Bankura district in West Bengal. As a good student never he asked to guardian for any complain. But problem rose when Saraswati Puja has come in this year. School decided a subscription of some Rupees for each student conducting the Puja. Other student deposited their subscription but Suman did not. Sri Debasish Patra, a rational minded man, who is the father of this son was not agree to deposit any subscription and he gave a letter to the head master of the School informing his decision. It was 29 th January 2009. Saraswati Puja was on 31 st January. Then the matter has shelved for three month. After a long period, on 25 th April, 2009 head master sent a letter to Debasish Patra requesting for subscription. Also he mentioned in this letter that it is issued after the meeting of school managing committee . Sri Patra answered on 27 April by a letter and clarified his reasons why he is not agree to give any subscription. After a few days when the annual result was about to published the head master played his game and is was not ready to hand-over the mark sheet of this student to his parents. On the other hand he published a list of the passed students but there was no name of this student in it. At last when a pressure was given by the others to the head master he agreed to hand over the mark sheet.
We, the ‘Science and Rationalist’s Association of India’ is protesting and crying shame on this incident. As India is a secular country so any body has a right to act any religious thinking. And also, if he is an atheist, he is always welcome in Indian constitution.
The constitution of our country says, neither we conduct Saraswati Puja in an govt institution, Kali Puja in a police station, Viswakarma Puja in govt offices nor any national assets can be used for religious festival purpose. So, why this incident occurs repeatedly?
Our organization is fighting against superstitions and blind religious faith since last 25 years. We spread our helping hand to this boy and his father. And also we claim punishment from our govt for those guilty school management committees who are busy to collect subscription for religious festivals by hook or crook.
